1、用记事本打开软件安装目录下的RunInfo.ini(默认路径为C:Program FilesMobile Broadband Modem)

Draft before test: Steps of Order Processing System
2008/121
This article is a draft before POL class test in SIMM.
Order processing refers to the all activities about fulfilling a customer order properly, quickly, and invoicing it accurately.
Order processing starts with the receipt of an order from a customer. Regular buyers and sellers often use EDI orders. The first step in most order-processing systems is to verify the accuracy of the order. The next step is to verify the customer’s credit or ability to pay. And then, the data of order is entered into the computer system to establish the file of backorder and prioritize the order. After determining from which warehouse to fill the order, instructions are sent to that warehouse to fill the order. At the same time, the tentative financial records are established and the inventory records are adjusted. At the warehouse an “order picking list” is given to a warehouse worker, and the worker starts picking for the order. In the packing area, it is checked and packed for shipment, and the package is labeled. The traffic manager determines the insurance needs and prepares the transportation documents. And then, the traffic manager notifies a carrier to pick up the shipment. In the end, the shipping charges are added by finance and an invoice for the goods is sent to the buyer.
These activities hereinbefore are main steps of order processing, but not limited to them because every business is different.
Assignment: The issues facing motor carriers in China
2008/123
This article is one of my PDM assignments in SIMM.
In all types of carriers, there are many advantages of motor carriers such as more agile, low-cost and easy to operate. As these advantages the entrance barrier of motor carrier becomes low, and more and more investors joined the motor carrier industry. Under this circumstance, if these investors have not advanced management concepts and expertise, the motor carrier market will be plunged into confusion.
In China, according to statistics the revenue of transportation was 800 billion RMB, accounting for 10 percent of the GDP. There were 3 million trucks in the motor carrier industry, and accounting for 70 percent of the whole transport market. However, these 3 million trucks actually belong to 1 million small companies-that is, on average each company has less than 3 trucks.
I think the above-mentioned phenomenon is most serious in Guangdong province. There are many SOHO (Small Office and Home Office) in Guangdong province; they set up a small place with a desk, a telephone and one or two trucks. Then these SOHO provide transportation services for the shippers. What they provide is a single service–just a point-to-point transportation, have no any services about cargo handling, storage, warehousing, packing, or others. We know none of these services can be dispensed with if a systemic logistics services is to be established. These SOHO can not provide the professional and high-level services of logistics, and they also can not take full advantage of the present resources of those 3 million trucks.
China is confronted with the main contradiction between small-scale scattering management and specialization, systematization, scalization and internationalization management in developing modern logistics in the 21st century. We should attach great importance to these issues.
My point of view is that the motor carrier industry should shift to 3PL (Third-Party Logistics).
The market scale of logistics industry is rising quickly due to a quick economy increase. Under the pressure of fierce competition, companies are looking forward to outsourcing more and more of their logistics and supply chain management business to 3PL. More and more global corporations began to establish bases in China. More and more gainable profits will be brought by 3PL market in China. This opens up possibilities that the motor carrier industry shift to 3PL.
The motor carrier industry in China should integrate the transportation resources, establish a new management system for professional and integrated 3PL services, and provide services including warehousing, pick and pack, assembly, fulfillment, labeling, packaging, freight forwarding, shipping, and transportation management. In this way, the motor carrier can adapt the needs of market economy, and raise the standard of China’s development of its logistics industry.
Homework: Why is learning English?
2008/100
Why is learning English? This is a simple question, but it’s not very simple for me.
I have studied Logistics in a Chinese university for four years, during the four years, I almost have not studied English so my English is very poor. When I graduated, I wanted to continue my studies, and I chose to study for a master in Singapore SIMM.
Then a big problem arose: The courses in SIMM are in English, how can I understand the courses? I must learn English hardly.
So, I have been studying in the Intermediate English Class of SIMM about three months, and I think my English level has improved, but just a little improvement, I think it’s not enough to take the logistics courses.
Advance Diploma course would begin on 13th October, before that day, I heard all my friends said they would decide to take AD course, although somebody’s English level was worse than me, I could not understand it, maybe AD course is not more difficult than I expected? So I decided to take AD course on 13th October too.
On that day, I was listening to the teacher attentively, but I only got a few of words, then I decided to dropped out AD course and continued the English course. I think this was a correct choosing.
The three-month English course in SIMM is well known that if your English is poor and you want to take AD course you must take it first. I asked some friends who have been taking AD course: “Did you understand the course?” they said: “No, but it’s not a problem, because teachers will give us the scope of exam, we can just recite it.” Perhaps in some classmates’ opinion, the three-month English course is just a task, and they think the success is just getting a diploma. But I don’t think so, I think I must learn English well first although I have finished the three-month English course, or else I can’t understand teacher’s words and I can’t get any logistics knowledge. What’s the use of a diploma? It’s just a paper. I must get more logistics knowledge and to be a useful person.
As you can see, my reason of learning English is very simple: just want to take the AD course. It’s same to any classmates, but it’s also different from some classmates.
