I’ve been heard the internet speed in Singapore is very fast, but when I came to Katong Hostel, I felt the internet speed was too slow, like a snail, I knew later that the internet in Katong Hostel was free, so, free things are not good.

I could not bear that speed, so I went to StarHub(a communication corporation in Singapore) and buy a service of wireless network. When I used it in Raffles Place, the download speed was about 450K/S, and when I used it in Katong Hostel, the download speed was about 250K/S. It’s much faster than China Mobile and Chinese ADSL.

The East Coast Park is ten minutes’ walk from Katong Hostel. The sea view is not very good, but it’s a good place for rest and recreation, many Singaporean families often BBQ here.

上个月底抵达新加坡，已经生活2个多星期了。

住在Katong Hostel，这里是个大杂烩，有很多东南亚和非洲的学生，所以这里的官方语言是英语。住宿环境比预期的差，但总体还是不错的。Katong Hostel的管理很严格，出入需要刷卡，而且设施齐全：公共厨房、洗衣服务、篮球场、Food Center、免费饮用水……；当然也有不尽人意的地方，例如蜗牛般的免费无线网络，简直比中国移动还慢；洗手池旁边总是一片狼藉，毕竟各个国家的人的素质不一样，不过还好有个勤奋的马来清洁工。

因为离学校有点小远，所以打算先住一段时间然后再出去租房。
